‘Tis The Season to Sell Your Home
It’s now November once again and all things pumpkin spice are in full effect, and families are again planning their Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday festivities. And wow, what a great time to sell a home! Really.
For starters, between now and the end of the year, the number of homes drops dramatically. Like 50% or more. Yet the number of sales stays approximately the same. Serious Buyers are still looking, but there’s very little to look at.
So if your home didn’t get the offers you wanted earlier in the year, now could be your time to shine. That means, you can actually sell your home faster … and for more than you could when the market was full up.
Also one more reason, prices are not expected to go up by that much next year. In fact, real estate economists expect the rate of appreciation to drop to around 3 percent next year. That’s because a lot of the Buyer desperation from earlier in the year has been satiated. And one closely held secret is that interest rates are very likely to go up … as the Fed stops subsidizing the interest rates.
This past year, home prices in the East Bay have been up on average 20% since the same time last year. So if you want to lock in the profits on your home, now is the time to celebrate the Holidays … and list your home!
